Commercial Photography

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA I forgot about this featured image and the recent publication for the corporate magazine from Intermountain Healthcare (IHC). I have enjoyed working for both companies in the past, on a variety of levels, actually, at IHC.
“Trailrunner in Storm”
TRAILRUNNING, NORTHERN UTAH Admittedly the set up for this shot was 100% pre-visualization. I knew the spot and I was hoping that it was shallow enough to look realistic. The day was actually really cold and a rain came and went. Fortunately, my athlete, Creighton Lowe, goes on auto-drive in these shoots and does what [...]
Portraits – Creighton Lowe
Before a commercial shoot one week ago, I had time shoot Creighton Lowe. I was very much preferring the darker backgrounds and the softer, more unidirectional light. As usual, I prefer to shoot wide open with a 50 mm or 85 mm lens. All in Canon on this one. Facebook: Joel Addams | Photography Twitter: joeladdamsphoto Website: www.joeladdams.com
Out in the Evening – Trailrunning
It was fun to meet a friend of a friend, Diana Andrew who usually does most of her modeling in fashion/wedding, etc and not the outdoor sports arena. She did a great job as a trailrunner, however, and I retouched most of the images for a day to night look. We shot three types of [...]
Out in the Morning – Trailrunning
Athletes Sarah Jackson and Creighton Lowe stride it out in the Utah early morning frost for the lens. Several of the following images are conceptual, so no, I didn’t intend for them to actually burn too many calories in a gorgeous field. Architecture Photography – Joel Addams
Photographing buildings is a wonderful mix of outdoor photography and special circumstances of composition. Recent architecture projects in and around the Salt Lake area have included a variety of large industrial buildings as well as smaller boutique structures. Even when the weather has been disagreeable, post-production has enabled even the most problematic situations to produce [...]
Singh-Ray Filters on Commercial Use Projects
Sure it’s a trick to craft a commercial image in Photoshop because you have to. Sometimes it’s fun to get in camera what you were envisioning on a commercial job, however. This is a heavy use of filters in a sunrise shoot from the morning on August 28, 2011 for a commercial real estate client [...]
